HOW IT IS DONE (CLICK IMAGE TO ENLARGE)

This decorating process is done by screen printing directly onto the container. This is accomplished by a specialized semi-automatic bottle printer. Ink is applied by a small squeegee though a very fine screen with a stencil on it, one color at a time. The printed item is then placed on a conveyor belt that runs through a dryer to cure the printed ink by Ultra-Violet light. It then falls into a box loose or is re-packed by hand. To print on a cylinder, the screen moves at the same rate as the bottle rotates and the squeegee is stationary. This is the opposite of the way signs or t-shirts are done. The squeegee moves across the print area. The screen and the object to be printed remains stationary.
